Should I Get An Engagement Session
Ask the Cleveland Wedding Photographers: Should I Get An Engagement Session
Many of our clients and friends ask us about the benefits of engagement sessions. We have found that engagement sessions are extremely beneficial, not only for the pictures captured during that session, but also for the pictures created during the wedding. Engagement Sessions Let You Get to Know Your Wedding Photographers' Pacing
Engagement sessions allow a couple to get to know their photographers. Not everyone out there is used to being followed around by a couple of professional cameras all day long! I mean, we don't all have a paparazzi!
Going out for an engagement photo session lets a couple become more comfortable with how a photographer paces the photography process. The couple can feel the flow the photographers create. Because an engagement photography session is typically just between the photographers and the couple, there is not the added pressure of a couple hundred pairs of eyes staring at the couple while they get their picture taken.
Engagement Sessions Let You Get to Know Your Wedding Photographers' Personalities
Not only do engagement sessions allow a couple to get to know their photographers' pacing, they also allow a couple to get to better know their photographers' personalities. Brian and I love the relationship aspect of wedding photography. Couples visibly become more comfortable with us and with the photography process throughout the session as we become friends. This all leads to better photos!
Engagement Sessions Result in Better Wedding Photographs
Getting to know your photographers leads to better pictures on your wedding day! When we show up on the wedding day having already walked through an engagement session with a couple, we start the day ahead of the game. The trust that is so useful for outstanding photos is already built into the relationship, and our couples are more relaxed around us. It is the difference between showing up as acquaintances and showing up as friends. Do we recommend engagement sessions for our couples? Absolutely!!
