Chelsea + Mitch's Adventurous Intimate Wedding at the Grand Barn at the Mohicans | Ohio Elopement Photographers
Ohio Elopement Photographers at the Grand Barn at the Mohicans for an Intimate Wedding
Chelsea and Mitch got married at the Grand Barn at the Mohicans, about halfway between Columbus and Cleveland. It was such a joy to be the wedding photographers for this sweet couple. The wedding was beautiful, intimate, and perfect for Chelsea and Mitch.
Chelsea and Mitch are high school sweethearts. They met during freshman year in high school. They had gym, social studies and science together, but neither of them spoke to each other because they both thought they'd never have a chance to be together. Eventually, Mitchell slipped Chelsea an invitation to a party he was having at his house and she took the invitation and told him she’d see him there. Chelsea showed up to Mitchell’s party and ended up getting into the hot tub where she had finally found Mitchell but there were about 10 people around them being obnoxious so she didn't get to really talk to him and they shortly separated. Later on that night, Mitchell found Chelsea. They got away from everyone where they could hear each other and Mitchell took her to the tree house he had in his backyard that he built with his father and they talked the rest of the night on the balcony looking at the stars and that’s where it all began!
For their wedding day, Chelsea and Mitch got ready and were married at The Grand Barn at the Mohicans. It was a perfect, rustic-yet-classy venue that matched their style and personalities seamlessly. Chelsea and Mitch had an intimate wedding ceremony with only the closest friends and family gathered. We absolutely love the simplicity and deep love of intimate weddings. This was a perfect fit for the happy couple.
Chelsea spent the morning getting ready with her girlfriends and sisters in the getting ready room at the Grand Barn at the Mohicans. There was tons of laughter as they were touching up each others’ hair and makeup. It was clear that these girls cared for each other and knew how to have a good time celebrating Chelsea’s wedding.
Once Chelsea and Mitch were all ready, we got to sneak them away to photograph their first look. Photographing the first time a couple sees each other is one of my favorite moments on the wedding day. It was as though time stopped for a moment and all Chelsea and Mitch saw was each other.
The forest and the tree houses surrounding the Grand Barn at the Mohicans made for a great setting for Chelsea and Mitch’s formal photography. We found a break in the rain showers and had a blast capturing this lovely couple.
Soon it was time for the wedding ceremony. The Grand Barn at the Mohicans has a lovely patio, with a gorgeous backdrop of woods and a gorge. In a simple style that perfectly fit them, Chelsea and Mitch committed their lives to each other. There were many happy tears from guests during the wedding ceremony.
Following the ceremony, Chelsea and Mitch celebrated with their friends and family with a scrumptious dinner provided by the Grand Barn at the Mohicans. Chelsea and Mitch’s friends and family knew how to have a great party and celebrated through the evening, ending with some relaxed time around one of the fire pits.
Chelsea and Mitch: We are so happy that you are married to each other and wish you the best in your future together! It was a joy to be your wedding photographers!
